Be it a firey pit, a barren wasteland, or a series of caves, it's not a place for mortals to tread on their own. Perhaps you're a denizen of this space. Or you've ended up at the gates and you can't quite recall how. Or you're on a quest to save a loved one. Or you're hapless fool who read the wrong latin passage allowed and now you're trapped. Technically speaking, Kore was born in Gaul, to a Gaul man and woman. She didn't remember the man, only her mother and even then - not much. She certainly didn't remember Gaul or what her name had been before the Roman had renamed her Kore.

And slaves were not granted much, certainly not funeral rites. Most especially not rebellious slaves, who were crucified and left to rot upon the Appian Way. Which meant that Kore was completely confused when she looked around and found herself with many others. More so when she found a gold bracelet around her wrist, something she used as payment.

Of course she was educated to understand not just Roman religion but Greek as well. So she understood what was happening.

Not that it made sense. Or that anyone seemed to know what to do with her.
