Steve Harrington / Stranger Things

[Steve can be found on the quidditch pitch, practicing throwing the quaffle through the hoops or packing up after Hufflepuff practice. He's often in the library, but he's either staring at his textbook in confusion, or sleeping on a stack of books somewhere in the back. In the holidays he's often at Hogsmeade, buying a stack of candy for the first years he's befriended and who aren't allowed to come yet.

Also, even though he isn't a prefect, he's totally up for sneaking out after dark to drink firewhiskey somewhere the teachers won't catch anyone.]

[ Billy's not a great wizard. He never got the best grades, wasn't particularly talented in any school of magic, and his muggle father certainly wasn't interested in helping his freak son get extra tutoring. Not to mention he probably lost more points for Gryffindor than the rest of the house combined in his first few years at Hogwarts.

In all his time here he had two saving graces. One was the fact that the bratty rich pureblood wizard he resented and fought with so frequently in his early years grew into a strong and compassionate person that Billy found himself trusting and opening up to. Someone he could care about, and who cared about him.

The other was that when given an opportunity to channel his energy in a productive manner, it turns out he was a damn good Beater. There was a talent scout from a professional team coming to watch a few games and rumor has it his name came up as a prospect - ever since then he was beaming. Insufferably smug, but with a layer of genuine happiness behind it that was rare from the kid who assumed he had no future in the wizarding world.

He flies up beside Steve (gripping his broom with only his legs like a show-off, hands at his side) and nudges him gently on the shoulder. ] Don't worry, Captain. [ He says it half-affectionately, half teasing. ] I'll make sure you have a clear shot.

[ A few years ago, Steve would've taken that as a challenge. An insult meant to provoke a fight that'd lead to a possible detention and a definite loss of house points.

Now, he can recognise the affection, sees the genuine pleasure in Billy's face. Sure, he's showing off but with the talent scout rumoured to be on the way he really should. Gryffindor's successes over the past year haven't been only due to Billy's skill, but it's a big part of it.

He grins, allowing the nudge and unable to return it since he's holding a quaffle and needs to keep a hand on the broom.]

You're gonna make me look good out there, hm Hargrove?

You always look good. [ Okay, maybe not first thing in the morning when his hair was messy and looked like some woodland creature had died on his head. Actually, Billy'd say he looked goo then, too, but he's biased.

Of course, a compliment from Billy is usually followed by something else, and this is no exception. ] Whether or not you play good, on the other hand...

[ He snickers. He's just teasing, of course, if he didn't think Steve was a good captain he'd petulantly refuse to follow any of his instructions even if it ruined the game. ]

[ Steve rolls his eyes, but it's ruined by his laugh. ] You're so full of shit, you know that?

[ For good measure he hefts the quaffle at the blond's head and ducks away so Billy can't just catch it and throw it back. ]

[ Hufflepuff, second year, muggleborn with two terrified parents who had no idea what to do with him.

Fortunately for him, he adores the world of magic, though his control over said magic is often laughable. It's easiest to find him in the library way too late at night or in a classroom after hours, trying to perfect that one spell that won't go quite right (read: all of them). Alternatively, he may be sneaking around somewhere, getting into trouble, because that's what kids do best. ]

[Lurine is heading through the library as a shortcut to get somewhere late at night when she spots a lantern that is still lit up in the stacks. She stops and goes over to where it's emanating a faint glow. There's Harrison, plugging away as usual. She can admire the boy's tenacity, but it is rather late.]

You should really be in bed.

[The professor admonishes, her accent sounding foreign but otherwise unable to be placed.]

[ Harrison startles a bit, looking up from the large book set up on the table in front of him and blinking blearily. It takes him a few moments to process her, which should be all that it takes to inform Lurine that she's right - he really should be in bed. He looks so small bundled up in his scarf and robes, like they might just swallow him whole any minute and send him right off to dreamland. ]

Hold on, I'm almost finished...

[ He definitely won't be one to comment on her accent, considering he's in much the same boat. Maybe Middle Eastern of some sort? It's tough to tell. ]

[She reaches out one finger and slowly closes the book until shuts with a solid Thump! This isn't the first time Harrison has been found still out and about by one of the staff. They're beginning to discuss if further punishment is needed to keep him where he's supposed to be after hours.]

That's a good stopping point right there. You're a growing boy and need rest.

[ The sound of the book slamming shut is what finally seems to wake him up. He sits up straight in attention, quickly rubbing his eyes before turning back to his professor with a look of panic and dismay. ]

Wait, but - no, this is important! I just need to finish my notes on this one section, then I'll leave! Promise!

And the book will still be here tomorrow, I assure you.

[She glances at the book to make sure it isn't the kind to get up and just walk away. They do that occasionally and other occasionally go invisible for the heck of it. But this one appears to be the sensible kind to stay put where it's supposed to be.]

Now come along or I'll just have to pick you up and carry you.

[She knew such actions would likely be humiliating enough to get the twelve-year-old motivated to cease his studies for the night. One might wonder how a woman with no noticeable muscles planned to carry him away, but Lurine seemed to have an astonishing amount of strength for a woman of her size. The students kept wondering what she had to be, since clearly no normal witch should be able to do that.]

You can't guarantee that.

[ Strange things are always happening at this school. He learned that far too many times over the course of his first year. So many times, in fact, that he no longer trusts stationary objects to stay... well, stationary. ]

I'll just be five more minutes! [ And five will turn into ten, and ten to fifteen, and so on. ] Then I'll go to bed!

[ He looks up at her with pleading eyes - a real last-ditch effort. And from everything he knows about Lurine... it probably won't work. But he figures it's at least worth a shot, even if he isn't the cutest kid around. He's been told he looks like a gecko. ]

Maybe if you ask it politely, it will be.

[Yes, that is in fact a serious suggestion, and not sarcasm. If a book was touchy, it was best to be nice to it.

She sighs and just shakes her head. Nope, the puppy-dog eyes are not going to work on her, though not for lack of trying. She doesn't have a heart made of stone after all. But he really needs to be sleeping and she can't leave him here in good conscience.]

[ Ravenclaw, sixth year, adopted as an infant by a somewhat maniacal pureblood father who also got his hands on six other magical kids, all of whom also attend Hogwarts (except for Vanya, she's apparently a squib).

He's almost always tucked away in a corner somewhere with a book, though he's also been known to hang around with his brother Klaus and make biting remarks about whatever gossip's floating through the hallways. He's incredibly gifted at Transfiguration, but he doesn't really like showing off. That said, he makes a great tutor or study partner, and he can be bribed pretty easily with sweets.

If you need to talk to him, your best bet is to take a walk past the lake at midnight - he likes to have silent conversations with the giant squid. ]

Shinjiro Aragaki | Persona 3 (Portable)

[No one outside Hufflepuff understands how he's a Hufflepuff. Inside the House is a somewhat different story, as Shinji is absolutely the Dorm Mom. Rumors abound that he's a werewolf or otherwise has a Shady Past, but he refuses to confirm or deny anything. Friends of note include that guy who started a boxing club for no readily apparent reason, and the heiress to a prominent pureblood family whose head made some sketchy wartime donations. The latter particularly stands out because Shinji doesn't know or care about his own blood status.

Ship options limited to Akihiko, Mitsuru or Minako; otherwise, I'm down for pretty much anything.]

[Ravenclaw of the DRAMATIC NERD stripe. One of those rare people who actually likes History of Magic - she reads the book rather than try to listen to a ghost talking about the same rebellions over and over.

Ivar "The Boneless" Ragnarsson | Vikings

[Year 6 Slytherin pureblood, not that he cares anything about that purity of the blood nonsense a lot of others go on about. He's the type of student that has few friends and seem to be extremely good at curses, especially using them on other students. He never seems to be caught by the teachers, but there's all sorts of murmurings about what he did one time to a cocky Gryffindor who called him a cripple...]

Ser Selmy Barristan | Game of Thrones

[Professor of Herbology and retired Auror. One wouldn't expect him in such a role, but it's something of a relief to deal with ornery plants that might try to eat you or scream at you after a lifetime of hunting dark wizards.]

Lurine Hollister | Agent of Hel

[A professor there as part of a foreign exchange program with Greece to help strengthen ties between the magical communities. Definitely not human, though just gives a sweet smile with a hint of malice and says 'You don't want to know' if asked what she really is. Pretty and popular with the students for giving off a big sister vibe that helps them feel like they can go to her with their problems.]

Beric Dondarrion | Game of Thrones

[Defense Against the Dark Arts professor with a mysterious past. He seems to have a different story each time a student asks what it is, mostly just to mess around with them, so who really knows what the truth is? But the various scars and missing eye hint that whatever he did beforehand wasn't pretty and very deadly in nature.]
